Impact Investment Exchange (IIX), a global pioneer in sustainable finance and impact investing, is pleased to announce that InvestEd, a leading Philippine-based social enterprise focused on student financing, has successfully secured US$100,000 in funding through the IIX Impact Partners™ Platform.
This strategic capital raise marks a major step forward for InvestEd as it continues its mission to democratize access to education for underserved youths in the Philippines. Facilitated through IIX’s digital capital-raising platform, Impact Partners™, the deal underscores growing investor confidence in inclusive, data-driven, and impact-focused education finance models in the region.
Founded in 2009, IIX has built the world’s first social stock exchange and has since unlocked over US$500 million in impact investments across more than 60 countries. IIX is widely recognized for driving systemic change by valuing women, climate action, and underserved communities in global capital markets.
The IIX Impact Partners Platform serves as a digital bridge between high-impact enterprises and a global network of mission-aligned investors. The platform enables enterprises to raise capital, amplify their visibility, and access tailored support to accelerate growth and impact.
InvestEd, a homegrown Filipino fintech enterprise, provides student loans and financial education to low-income youth. With its proprietary risk engine and personalized borrower support system, InvestEd addresses the financial barriers to higher education and builds pathways to employment and financial resilience.
The US$100,000 raised via IIX Impact Partners is part of InvestEd’s ongoing capital raise, launched in January 2024, with a broader funding goal of US$2 million. The current round includes a blended finance structure—comprising equity and debt capital—to serve various growth objectives:
- Equity will support operating expenses and scale-up efforts while the company works toward profitability.
- Debt will be directed toward student loan disbursements.
- Grants, where applicable, will fund enhancements to InvestEd’s proprietary technology and intellectual property.
“InvestEd is solving one of the most critical challenges in the Philippines—access to quality education. We are proud to support their capital raise and bring in values-aligned investors who believe in education as a powerful driver of inclusive growth,” said Durreen Shahnaz, CEO and Founder of IIX.
IIX will continue to support InvestEd through post-investment engagement and investor connectivity to ensure long-term impact and sustainable financial outcomes.
