There are many ways of getting around in Dhaka. For foreign visitors the safest and easiest way to get around is by auto-rickshaws and metered Taxis. Black taxi meters starts at Tk 15, whilst yellow taxis, which are considered to be safer and come with air-conditioning, start at Tk 20.

Buses are available and serve the main routes. However as the signs inside the buses are only written in Bengali and most buses are very crowded during operating hours, the usage is not recommended for foreign visitors
