The Intersectionality of Gender Equality and Climate Action for Impact Investing in Vietnam
This policy paper explores the challenges and opportunities in advancing gender-responsive green finance in Vietnam. Developed as part of the Impact Investment Readiness Vietnam (IIRV) project, it examines how women—especially in rural areas—face significant barriers to accessing green finance, despite their critical role in the economy. Limited financial options, high-interest rates, and complex application processes continue to hinder their participation in the country’s growing green economy.
Drawing on international case studies, the report highlights the need for Gender Lens Investing (GLI), innovative financial instruments, and stronger public-private partnerships. It calls for systemic reforms, including enhanced regulatory frameworks, gender-disaggregated data collection, and expanded financing options for women-led enterprises, to create a more inclusive financial system.
By linking gender equality and climate action, this paper presents actionable strategies to foster a sustainable and equitable impact investing ecosystem. Download the full report to explore how Vietnam can unlock new opportunities for women and green finance.
