On December 17 2013, the World Economic Forum released From Ideas to Practice, Pilots to Strategy.The report provides investors, philanthropists and other professionals with actionable insights into how to incorporate impact investing into their work.

From Ideas to Practice, Pilots to Strategy is a collection of 15 articles offering concrete approaches and insights from leading practitioners in the field of impact investing. The publication includes pieces on: how environmental, social and corporate governance can enhance long-term risk-adjusted returns; frameworks for incorporating impact investing for institutional investors as a competitive strategy; how to evaluate impact investment funds; best practices for fund governance for impact investing fund managers; and challenges and opportunities associated with innovative impact investing instruments.
The report is the second publication of the Forum’s Mainstreaming Impact Investing series following From the Margins to the Mainstream. Through its multi-stakeholder platform, the World Economic Forum will continue to advance the impact investment agenda identifying best practices for mainstream investors and engaging practitioners as well as new audiences into an open dialogue through the new knowledge-sharing platform Global Learning Exchange for Social Impact Investing.
